  • Year-End Meeting: Pending Tasks, Group Photo, and Dinner

    An end-of-year meeting of the STRG will be held today at 2PM in IACC 258C. Agenda items include identifying research tasks that must be wrapped up over the winter break, taking our annual group photo, and getting together for an early dinner at KoBe's Restaurant. All members are expected to attend.

  • Mohammed, Iyad, and Arti pass SE Comprehensive

    Congrats to Mohammed, Iyad, and Arti on passing the Software Engineering Comprehensive Exam this semester. Mohammed and Iyad (PhD students) have achieved doctoral level passes, while Arti (MS student) has qualified at the masters level. We extend recognition to them for their respective achievements.

  • Akanksha to Join UND Web Development Team

    Congrats to Akanksha on her new full-time position as a Web Developer in the Center for Rural Health at the University of North Dakota (UND), Grand Forks. We know that her internship experience in web development, combined with her knowledge of software testing, will make her a valuable asset to the team at UND.

  • Member Activities Featured in 2010 CS Newsletter

    A number of STRG member activities appear in this year's NDSU Computer Science (CS) Newsletter. Annaji is featured in an article on successful students. In addition, Richard and Dr. King's trip to WISTPC 2010, and the hosting of Dr. Jorgenson for the test-driven development seminar also appear in the newsletter.

  • Asha to Intern at CoreLink in Software Development

    Congrats to Asha on her new internship position as a .NET Developer with CoreLink Administrative Solutions. CoreLink is a healthcare technology joint venture between Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska, where the domain is processing insurance claims.

  • Invitation to Extend STITC Paper as a Book Chapter

    Dr. King and Annaji have been invited to extend their paper on self-testing of the cloud to a chapter in the upcoming book Software Testing in the Cloud: Perspectives on an Emerging Discipline. The book is scheduled to be published in 2012 by IGI Global, under the direction of lead editor Dr. Scott Tilley.

  • Members to Attend Seminar on Test-Driven Development

    The STRG will be attending a talk by renown author and speaker Dr. Paul C. Jorgenson, Professor of Computer & Information Systems at Grand Valley State University. The talk entitled, "Test-Driven Development: A Faustian Bargain" will be held today at 7:30PM in the Van Es Auditorim. Dr. Jorgenson is a guest of STRG member Richard Rummelt.

  • Richard to Attend WISTPC 2010 as a Workshop Participant

    Richard is attending the 2nd Workshop on Integrating Software Testing into Program Courses (WISTPC 2010) from June 23-24 at Florida International University in Miami. During the workshop he will work on modifying his CSci 161 syllabus and assignments to include software testing. Dr. King will be in attendance as a presenter.

  • Annaji's Research Trip Featured in Microsoft Newsletter

    Annaji's research trip to STITC 2010 is featured in this week's Microsoft Fargo Campus Newsletter. The news article, entitled Microsoft Fargo Based Employee Shares His Research Abroad, describes Annaji's research trip to the workshop in Paris and his sentiments on the experience.

  • Akanksha Passes CS Comprehensive and Acquires Internship

    Congrats to Akanksha (MS student) for passing the Computer Science Comprehensive Exam at the PhD level. In addition, she has been granted a summer internship position with the Web Department of International Marketing Systems, Fargo ND. We extend recognition to Akanksha for these two outstanding achievements.

  • Annaji to Present with Dave Froslie on Testing Positions at Microsoft

    Dave Froslie, Software Architect at Microsoft, and Annaji Ganti will be talking to Dr. King's Software Testing class today at 6:30PM in IACC 104. Mr. Froslie's talk is entitled "What is a Software Design Engineer in Test?". STRG member Annaji Ganti has been working as an SDET since 2008, and will share his personal experiences in this role.

  • University-Industry Outreach: Presentation to IBM on Cloud Testing

    Dr. King will be presenting on Self-Testing of the Cloud to Garth Tschetter, Cloud Computing Offering Manager at IBM Smart Business. The presentation is being held today in IACC 258C as part of an ongoing effort by Dr. Dean Knudson to establish a University-Industry Research Consortium. All are welcome to attend.

  • Paper Accepted to the IEEE STITC 2010 Workshop

    Congrats to Annaji for having his paper accepted to the 2nd International Workshop on Software Testing in the Cloud (STITC 2010). Annaji will be presenting his paper on April 10th at the workshop, which is being co-located with the 3rd IEEE International Conference on Software Testing, Verification and Validation (ICST 2010).

  • Organizational Meeting: Presentation on Writing Good Research Papers

    An STRG meeting will be held today at 1PM in IACC 258C. Agenda items include reporting small group progress, and identifying research directions on: testing autonomic systems, testing of the cloud, and testing ERP systems. Iyad and Mohammed will present on Writing Good Software Engineering Research Papers. All members are expected to attend.

  • Orientation Meeting: Presentation on What is Research?

    The first meeting of the STRG @ NDSU will be held today at 6:15PM in room IACC 258C. Dr. King will give a short presentation on What is Research? and Basic Research Skills in Computer Science. Other items on the agenda include scheduling small group meetings, and installing LaTeX tools. All members are expected to attend.
