The Computer Systems Institute was founded in 1981 and, over the years,
has conducted customized training for industry, developed cross-disciplinary
projects that provided specialized equipment to improve education in
computer science and electrical engineering, and contracted for the
development of customized information and decision support systems. The
Institute manages an endowment that supports the Department of Computer
Science, through the granting of student scholarships, providing faculty
development opportunities, and meeting specialized departmental needs.
The Computer Systems Institute provides a vehicle for carrying out projects,
and for entering into cooperative agreements and mutually beneficial partnerships
between off-campus organizations and the faculty and staff of the
Department of Computer Science at North Dakota State University. The
Computer Systems Institute promotes and supports multi-disciplinary
research and development in computer systems.
