Profiling Statistics: surfnet/19970930

Squid caching proxy of the SURFNet network provider is a top level server of The SURFnet Cache Mesh. It is a part of the DESIRE project.

At the time of the experiment the cache server was running on an old IBM RS6000 model 970 using the IBM advanced file-system to create one big virtual disk. The machine will be soon upgraded to a new IBM RS6000 model R50 with multiple caching disks using the normal UFS.

The patched version of Squid (v1.1.15) was run on Tuesday, September 30, 1997.

Warning: This proxy was running Squid with the "double-read(2)" bug that may affect performance of a proxy.

We split our experiments into 6 categories.

  1. General

  2. Disk

  3. Memory

  4. Outbound Network

  5. Inbound Network

  6. Hits
