MexCom is a Squid caching proxy of the Mexico Communicates organization. Here is a brief description of MexCom and its caching hierarchy:
"Mexico Communicates, located philosophically and geographically in Latin America, is a multi faceted, synergistic and dynamic organization that mirrors and capitalizes on the potential of the Internet.
We are using cacheing as an integral part of the basic infrastructure of our connection independent, virtual, economic community project and product.
This prototype has a very simple hierarchy and is the parent of two local university caches, of ISP's cache all with 128K connections and neighbor of our local cache that in this moment is only one other that is handling the dial-up portion of the community and some 30 internal machines on two fast Ethernet and two 10 Mbps networks."
The patched version of Squid (v1.1.17) was run on Tuesday, October 28, 1997. We also have data from other days.
We split our experiments into 6 categories.
