Completed reports from working groups:
Background on working groups
Four working groups have been formed. Reports on organizational meetings
from these three groups were made at the November 21, December 12, January
16, and January 30 meetings of the ITR.
Information technology policy working group
ITR members: Bill Maki (chair), Mark England, Stan Ernst, Mark Hubbard,
Mark McCourt, Dave Wahlberg

This group has been asked to
-
review drafts of NDUS computer policy and procedures and NDSU WWW policy
;

inform ITR on acceptable/fair use issues; and
-
recommend policies and procedures for NDSU.
WWW development
ITR members: Rosi Kloberdanz (Chair), Stan Ernst, Jan Flack, Phil McClean,
Sudir Mehta, Deb Ott, Don Schwert, Dave Wahlberg
Other participants: John Grosen (ITS), Brian Slator (CS), Joanne Laska
(Mechanical Engineering; student representative).
To create a plan for WWW support at NDSU, this group was asked to
-
identify academic and administrative needs;
-
determine core resources and personnel; and
-
recommend structure of WWW services.
The WWW development group (aka Working on the Web, or WOW) reported its
findings and recommendations at a meeting of the ITR on January 30. ITR
was unanimous in its approval of the recommendations (which has been forwarded
to the President and Vice Presidents). The approved report is titled PROPOSAL
FOR THE FUTURE OF MULTIMEDIA TECHNOLOGY AT NDSU.
Academic technology partnerships

This group has recommended a plan for faculty development and incentives
aimed at increasing integration of information technology in the NDSU curriculum.
The ATP
plan was approved at the January 16 meeting of the ITR, and is in process
of being implemented. See the call
for proposals.
Campus information

This group has launched a series of ITR forums, the first of which occured
on January 29: :The future impact of the state's K-12 technology on North
Dakota State University."
