Received his PhD from Rice in 1971 and has been at NDSU since 1973.
Teaching interests include the undergraduate courses in theoretical computer science and algorithm analysis and the beginning graduate course in foundations of programming. The third edition of his textbook for the theoretical computer science sequence, Introduction to Languages and the Theory of Computation, was published by McGraw-Hill in 2003.
Dr. Martin is the undergraduate coordinator in the computer science department, and advisor to freshman and transfer computer science majors.
